Collection: Explore the Outdoors (while practicing social distancing) with a Scavenger Hunt!
With many of us being stuck indoors because of the COVID-19 pandemic, getting some fresh air is even more critical. Scavenger hunts are a great way to enjoy some outdoor play while abiding by the social distancing precautions that we’re all trying to follow.
Simply make a list of things you want your kids to find and let them have fun hunting for as many items as they can. Or you can hide things around your yard and leave fun clues that will lead your kids to each item. It can be as simple or complex as you want it to be so that kids of all ages can join in on the fun!
We've put together a few different ideas for scavenger hunts to do with your kids for no matter where you live.
Backyard Scavenger Hunt
This is something you can do while going on a walk or right in your own yard! Encourage your child to be curious about the world around them. What do they notice about their surroundings? Is there a different flower they've never seen before or discovered a new place to play hide and seek?
Rainbow Treasure Hunt
Spring and Summer always mean bright sunny skies, warmer temperatures, and lots of colors! A rainbow scavenger hunt is perfect for working on identifying colors. Have a blast searching for a rainbow of colors in your backyard or on a walk.
Nature Walk/ Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt
Another way to get outdoors is to go play in your backyard or stroll through your neighborhood. Have your child keep track of what they see while exploring the world around them.
All these ideas are a great way to encourage family time outdoors while practicing social distancing.
