Collection: Discover 3 Awesome Craft Projects You Can Create to Gift Your Rad Dad This Father’s Day

Looking for some unique Father’s Day crafts? ‘Tis the season to celebrate all the rad dads out there! If you are like us, you may find that dads are notoriously difficult to buy for, but we still want to make them feel special and loved on this holiday. That’s why we had to stop and think long and hard about the perfect Father’s Day gifts.

But, here’s a news flash: Any dad will tell you that the best gifts are those that are handmade...especially when they are made by the little hands of his kiddos!

That’s where the team at Doodle Hog can help!

The truth is, a DIY or a homemade craft trumps all other gifts when it’s made with love. Get the kids together and pick out one of these Father’s Day craft ideas to make for the rad dads in your life. And be encouraged, because you likely already have the household supplies to get these crafts started, like paper, crayons, pantry staples, or something you can grab from nature.

Not only will Dad love these craft projects, but your kids can really explore their creativity while having a blast making them. And, ultimately, you’re making amazing family memories together, so it’s a win-win!

Now, for the fun! Here are three Father’s Day crafts the dads in your life are sure to love:

#Craft 1: My Dad Rocks

It doesn’t get much easier than this! Go on a walk with the kids and have them pick up a few neat rocks. After you’ve gathered a collection, bust out your NOYO Gel Crayons and have them design their own - or write a special message to Dad! The NOYO Crayons write smooth and bold on almost any surface. Dad can use the rocks to decorate his desk, as paperweights, or on his bathroom vanity.

Craft #2: Dab and Dot Dad

This activity is super fun for even the smallest of crafters! Kids enjoy seeing their ‘invisible’ message come to life at the end of this project, and it makes for the perfect poster or office art for dad!

Here's What You'll Need:

How to create the Dab and Dot Dad craft:

1. Gather materials above.

2. Have a parent or child write I (heart) Dad! in bubble letters. To make bubble letters, practice on a separate sheet of paper first.

Find an easy method to make bubble letters HERE.

3. Cut out the letters - adult hands may need to help cut the center of the letters in “D” and/or “A.”

4. Place letters on a large sheet of paper.

5. Have your child use their favorite colors to Dab and Dot around each letter. The more dots they add, the better!

6. Once you’ve dotted around each letter, continue to add dots until you’ve covered your page.

7. Remove the letters to reveal the message!

8. Have your child sign their poster card.

Dab and Dot Dad Craft variations: Change Dad to Grandpa, Uncle, or another father figure’s name. Make it on a poster board and hang in a window or your front yard! Use painter’s tape to gently tape down letters and use your NOYO Crayons to color.

#Craft 3: Perfect Placemat for Dad

These downloadable Father’s Day placemats are perfect for Dad! He’ll especially love the answers to our prompts and enjoy the fun graphics. Every creative colorer will love scribbling away on these placemats with their favorite coloring tools!

What’s cool about your Dad?! We’d love to know, so be sure to share with us on social media along with photos of your Father’s Day crafts creations. Don’t forget to hashtag #doodlehog!
